Colourful holds on the sunlit climbing wall

NCKU CLIMBING WALL

When You ArriveFour Steps

First time here? Just work through the four steps below.

01

STEP 01Follow our page, fill in the form

Opening hours are always announced on our Facebook page.
The attendance form is a new one every month — fill it in before you come.

Stuck?
If anything on the form doesn't make sense, just ask a manager on site.
02

STEP 02Sign the health declaration

Sign the paper form on site: NCKU Climbing Wall Daily Health Declaration. It is in Chinese — ask a manager if you'd like it explained.

  • Your safety is your own responsibility.
If you feel unwell or off your game today, sit it out and watch instead.
  • If something feels wrong mid-climb,
stop straight away and tell a manager.
03

STEP 03Pick up gear: harness and shoes

We have all the gear here, so bring nothing. Just come over and tell us:

  • Your weight (or waist size): we'll find you a harness that fits.
  • Your shoe size (EU): we'll find you climbing shoes.
  • We'll show you how to put the harness on. Nobody gets it right the first time.
  • Climbing shoes are only worn while you climb.
They are meant to be tight and your toes will curl — that's normal.

STEP 04Queue up for your climb

Pick a route you like, join the queue for it, and tell the belayer you want to climb.

  • Outer Wall
    外牆
    Start here
  • Inner Wall
    內牆
    Harder
  • Slab
    斜板
    Hardest
Start on the Outer Wall your first time. Once that feels good, move on to the Inner Wall and the Slab.

Want to come back?

You're welcome any time the wall is open.
We'll help you unlock more routes and techniques.
If lead climbing or belaying interests you, the NCKU Mountaineering Club is running 4 belay classes this semester. Follow them so you don't miss it.
